Literacy
Each week the boys and girls will be exposed to many reading books and activities.
We will focus on 1 Big Book per week during our shared reading sessions competing numerous focussed tasks in relation to the story linked with WAU when possible.
Our guided reading scheme is 'Oxford Reading Tree'. The children prepare this book in school for one week with their reading group and take it home the following week to consolidate learning with their families.
We follow the Linguistic Phonics scheme. Please join our Class Seesaw account to access videos, songs amd activities to assist you when helping your child at home.
We teach handwriting according to the Nelson Handwriting Scheme. Please find Letter formation guides in the front of your child's homework book.
We visit the library on a weekly basis. Please read the book your child picks and return it to school the following week.
