Our Confucius School
Min has been teaching mandarin to our children over the past few years. She comes from the Confucius Institute at the Ulster University. A network of Confucius Classrooms have been set up in schools across Northern Ireland teaching Mandarin Chinese and culture. The connection between Ulster and Chinese universities has deepened cooperation in the exchange of teachers and students, establishing research and development platforms, and sharing teaching ideas and other resources.
This video highlights this worthwhile opportunity and valuable learning experience for our pupils. If you watch, you will see their fluent responses. We are very proud of their achievements. A number of pupils will also undertake the state recognised YCT1 and 2 Mandarin test this year. This video also featured in the national media in China, demonstrating how competent our pupils are becoming and how their Mandarin language skills are developing. Well done to all the boys and girls who take part in these lessons, we are extremely proud of their achievements so far.
Thank you also to Min who works tirelessly every week in each of the classes to plan and deliver lessons in Mandarin language and culture.
