πβ¨ Happy European Day of Languages! β¨π
Today at St. Oliver Plunkett, we are celebrating the beauty of languages, cultures, and connections across Europe and beyond. ππ¬
From French to Finnish, Spanish to Slovak, Italian to Irish – every language opens a new door to understanding, friendship, and opportunity. β€οΈ
π Our students are taking part in fun activities, language games, and cultural exchanges to remind us that learning a new language means more than words – it’s about building bridges across borders. π
π Let’s keep exploring, learning, and celebrating the richness of Europe’s linguistic diversity together!

π We Need Your Votes! π
As you may know, we announced last year that our very own Malachy Marley, was awarded a Primary Engineer MacRobert Medal for his incredible invention,“I Can Swing!” as part of the “If you were an engineer, what would you do?” competition!
This is a huge achievement for Malachy, our school, and the entire St Oliver Plunkett community! π The final award (Gold, Silver, or Bronze) will be revealed at the prestigious ceremony in London this November—but there’s one more way we can help Malachy shine even brighter…
The Public Vote for the Commendation Medal is now OPEN!
Let’s show our support and help Malachy and our school win this special recognition. Every vote counts!

Go Malachy! Go St Oliver Plunkett! ππ

A Special Visitor in Year 2 – Penny! πΎ
Year 2 had a very special treat this week — a visit from our friendly therapy dog Penny, along with Ms Taggart!
The children were thrilled to see our calm and gentle canine guest. Therapy dog visits are a wonderful way to support wellbeing in school, and it was heartwarming to see how confident, calm, and caring our pupils were during the session.
