Our digital leaders enjoyed a fantastic day of training at W5 provided by iTeach. We worked with the new Sprk+ Sphero droids and worked out complicated algorithms to make them move around the mazes and tracks. Harder than you might think!

We also used the app Assembly to design a digital leader badge which represented the role of the digital leaders in our school. Rioghnach's design was chosen as one of the designs which will be made into a real actual badge.

The final workshop gave us the chance to design our own app and make an advertisement to sell the app. We had one design where you could decide and order what food you wanted for lunch and it would be delivered to your classroom and another which you could use to change the mood of the teacher! Who ever heard of a grumpy teacher??

Official Opening of our Eco Garden

Our beautiful new garden was officially opened yesterday by Alex Maskey MLA and Jo Scott, BBC presenter. This garden will provide children with unique learning experiences and educate them on environmenatal issues.

Girl Power

On Tuesday 17th May 10 lucky girls from P5-P7 got a chance to attend a 'money can't buy' experience at Nutts Corner. The programme was organised by Dare 2Be Different in association with Sky Sports and former Williams F1 test driver Susie Wolff. They girls had a great day out which included Go-Karting, making a hovercraft, seeing a F1 car, and learning about health and nutrition. They also got the opportunity to present in front of a Sky Sports camera crew. The aim of the programme is to encourage girls into STEM activities and motor racing. Our 10 girls are now Dare 2Be Different Deputies and will be doing their best to encourage as many girls as they can.
